Global / Obama Awared Nobel Peace Prize
« on: October 09, 2009, 08:16:32 pm »
OSLO – The announcement drew gasps of surprise and cries of too much, too soon. Yet President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday because the judges found his promise of disarmament and diplomacy too good to ignore.
The five-member Norwegian Nobel Committee — four of whom spoke to The Associated Press, said awarding Obama the peace prize could be seen as an early vote of confidence intended to build global support for the policies of his young administration.

Well I went out to take some pictures of chelsea today, I was brord, it was a nice night and I wanted to get some fresh air. So I went around and took a bunch.

I got some of my house, my street, the MWRA, the T, the tobin birgde, my doctors office, the grocery stoor, and I tried to take a picture of my old school...

Someone called the cops and I was stoped about two blocks away, apperently they thought I was taking pictures of kids... after I calmy explained what really happend and showed the police my pictures, and appologized for causing a mistunderstanding... (turns out they know my dad) they sent me happily on my way...

However, I'm enraged, and nauseous. I'm not upset about being stopped, or even the fact that I was accused of something so absurd. The reason I am upset is that I live in a world where you can't take a picture of your old school without causing a panic. Society is beset by perverts and parents are afraid. Just today I heard of some scum bag who exposed himself to some young girls in Arlington. This is the kind of world we live in... and I honestly don't know if anything can be done about it. But I feel like somehow, someway things need to change because this just isn't right.

I'll post my pictures later on, I had a "welcome to Chelsea" thread planned, but I'm not really up to posting it right now... this whole thing made me feel sick.

If something could happen, no matter how unlikely, everyone is planning to do it to you.

Global / Hydrogen Car Gets 1336 MPG
« on: July 14, 2009, 06:46:09 pm »

Turkish students at Sakarya University have built a hydrogen car that gets 1,336 mpg. Well, sorta.

Called the SAHİMO, the vehicle’s current range is about 353 miles on a quarter gallon of fuel (568 kilometers on 1 liter). It travels such an obscene distance with so little fuel due to the vehicle’s uber-light weight: it weighs only 240 pounds (110 kilograms). The car’s made up of 90-percent carbon fiber.

I assume the size and weight limit it to holding only a liter of fuel. I couldn’t verify this as their site is in Turkish and mine is a little rusty.

The SAHMO won third most efficient vehicle in Europe’s 26th Shell Eco Marathon. And their next goal is to conquer the inaugural 2009 Global Green Challengee–an evolution of the World Solar Challenge competition in Australia–this October. About twenty electric, hybrid, alternative fuel and low emission production and prototype vehicles will compete in the race.

You will never get me to eat any shellfish. Not for religious reasons, but just because they are disgusting.

That doesn't answer my question.

It answers your point. I don't decide how PCism works.
