The Mud pile / The war on Conspiracy theories!
« on: September 15, 2009, 07:11:12 pm »
I Giuliano taverna do hereby declare war on all the frauds, fear mongers, and lunatics who use the internet to spread lies and propaganda either to further their political, ethnic, or religious agenda, or simply for kicks.

This thread is open to all, tin foil hat wearing and not alike. Please... post any conspiracy theories you know of, so I can debunk them. Or if you wish to help me out. Post theories and the proof that debunks them.

op-ed new York times columnist to the great tumult and emphatic appreciation of the race baiters in the far left wrote a columnist recently condemning the actions of south Carolina senator Joe Wilson in accusing Obama of lying as motivated by racism along with the entirety of the anti Obama, tax day tea party/ democrat healthcare reform protests.

Now, taken aside the absurd arrogance of accusing a movement that I know first hand is multi racial, of being racist. I'm going to show how based on her own standard of racial politics, namely that anyone who criticized a black man for any reason is only motivated by race must prove that she herself is a racist.

Former potential justice Clarence Thomas was accused by Dowed in yet another New York times op-ed column of "low tech lynching"

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/07/opinion/07dowd.html?hp

in his decision to stop the recount in Florida totally ignoring the serious effect such an attempt to subvert the political process contesting the result of a lawful democratic election had, and its un presented nature. Silly things like tradition and common sense never occur to liberals anyway. Much less the sanctity of a respected institution like the electoral college. Clinging to the popular leftist belief that the election was stolen by sinister republicans and sinister conservative "activist judges" as if such an oxymoron could be taken seriously. She slams him over and over attacking the premise of his political beliefs as ungrateful, not authentically black, and she audaciously contends that she a white female new yorker is somehow more informed as to the state of black males in this country than a black male who was subjected to Jim crow growing up in the south.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/opinion/13dowd.html?adxnnl=1&ref=opinion&adxnnlx=1252926262-T2aZpsJtdGGCpsGoJylScw

Since she is fully justified in attacking conservatives for being racist for attacking liberal policies and those that appose them, (which by the way they should be entirely expected to do by definition as conservatives) without any proof and hardly any timidity, I'd like to return the favor and claim that she is racist without any proof, (excluding her standard of proof which is having criticized a black man for any reason.) I challenge liberal race baiters to prove she isn't a racist, in the same way they expect me to prove a negative and find evidence that any given obama protester up to and including Joe Wilson is not a racist. Based on their line of reasoning, I have to conclude a flying spaghetti monster created earth and mankind due to a lack of evidence to the contrary.

Big Government - Authoritarian / Re: My Problem with Universal Health Care

I don't agree with your assertion that to want people to have access to healthiness is to believe it to be a right. I have always drawn the distinction between rights and publicly provided services.

A right is something you have, that a dictator can take away from you. Such as your life, your property, your freedom, your ability to speak, ect. That is the basis of the bill of rights in this country. To protect people from other people, and from the government. Not to protect people from themselves or from nature. This I believe is primarily their responsibility.

I also see a fundamental flaw with your proposed system. If you cut compensation to doctors, less will aspire to be doctors. The fewer doctors there are, the longer the wait time will be to see them. This is why you can't fix prices. The same holds true of any commodity. if you say grain can only be a certain price, then people will stop growing it and chose another more profitable crop.

Managing the economy in this way will only guarantee that for every sector you regulate, others will expand, and that one will contract. This will create shortages in some places, and unneeded surpluses in others.

For your system to work, you would need to be able to force a certain number of people to become doctors. And that would require radically changing our system of government.

Really, to manage the economy, you would need to manage the entire economy, and that would mean every poor person would cease to be "unlucky" and become a victim of the state. A government that runs the economy, is responsible for the effects of the economy.

Food, shelter, and other necessities have always been part of the capitalists system ever since we attained a division of labor such that certain people grew crops and others sold them.

The issue is simply making sure that enough independent entities offer the good or service so that there can be competition among them to win customers. This also requires savvy customers who understand what they are buying and how much it ought to be worth.

Now I am not suggesting capitalism is perfect, capitalism is the worst possible economic system except for all the ones that have been tried in its place.

Depends on how you  define universal health-care. If you mean single payer or government control over health-care providers then probably no. I also don't believe health-care is a right.

However as an issue of national pride, and because I'm an altruist, I'd favor programs designed to ensure everyone who deserves coverage has access to it. As a practical matter a healthy population is an asset.

The issue is how does one go about this? I'd like health-care plans to be as individual, personal, and adaptable as possible with more choices, transparency, and managed at a level close to and accountable to the people under it.

My problem with the Obama plan and most of these plans is that they fit few or non of these parameters.

Unfortunately it looks like these birds need to be taken out. They are going to put a strain on native species and could cause them to become endangered or extinct.

This is clearly why humans shouldn't move around animals to environments that can't handle them.

Well I went out to take some pictures of chelsea today, I was board, it was a nice night and I wanted to get some fresh air. So I went around and took a bunch.

I got some of my house, my street, the MWRA, the T, the tobin birgde, my doctors office, the grocery stoor, and I tried to take a picture of my old school...

Someone called the cops and I was stoped about two blocks away, apperently they thought I was taking pictures of kids... after I calmy explained what really happend and showed the police my pictures, and appologized for causing a mistunderstanding... (turns out they know my dad) they sent me happily on my way...

However, I'm enraged, and nauseous. I'm not upset about being stopped, or even the fact that I was accused of something so absurd. The reason I am upset is that I live in a world where you can't take a picture of your old school without causing a panic. Society is beset by perverts and parents are afraid. Just today I heard of some scum bag who exposed himself to some young girls in Arlington. This is the kind of world we live in... and I honestly don't know if anything can be done about it. But I feel like somehow, someway things need to change because this just isn't right.

I'll post my pictures later on, I had a "welcome to Chelsea" thread planned, but I'm not really up to posting it right now... this whole thing made me feel sick.

That is actually a brilliant idea... I might have to steel that as my only current plan is to require them to lose the weight themselves to be eligible which is admittedly not a perfect solution.

As a voting independent - moderate citizen of Massachusetts I'm very interested in candidates apposing incumbent Deval Patrick who has been a disaster for the commonwealth. However while I agree with and support most of your stated positions I'm slightly annoyed by two of them.

1. Wind farms

2. Casino gambling

I view alternative domestically produced energy as necessary for future economic growth and think tide and wind farms in the cape are absolutely vital to reducing long term energy costs. I haven't heard any compelling arguments against them and I'm left wondering why you appose this.

I view gambling as a victimless activity that will persist whether we chose to recognize it or not. I don't believe its the governments place to legislature morality, and I believe allowing casinos to open in Massachusetts will prevent the loss of revenue to existing casinos in Connecticut which is a drain on our economy.

I'd like to make it clear that I am voting in the gubernatorial election, and I will vote for whoever holds the position closest to mine without regard for party affiliation. I hope that will be you, but its too early to tell.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Giuliano Theodore Taverna

I intend to question all candidates directly to challenged their stances on issues that I feel they have the wrong position on, and I will post any responses I may get. In addition I will follow the campaign and post updates, including who I intend to vote for when I have decided.
